When Ambrosio was 12 years old, enrolled in modeling classes then, began modeling for Dilson Stein at age 15. Winning Brazil's Elite Model Look started her modeling career. Her first big modeling job was the cover of the Brazilian Elle magazine. Elite passed along some of her Polaroids to Guess which led her to do the Millennium GUESS? campaign along with her friend and fellow Brazilian Ana Beatriz Barros. She has since been in huge demand, working with big-name brands including Revlon, Christian Dior, Giorgio Armani, Rolex, Oscar de la Renta, Gucci, Escada, Rocco Barocco, Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren, as well as the famed Pirelli Calendar. As for fashion shows, she has walked the catwalks for designers such as Laura Biagiotti, Christian Lacroix, Byblos, Fendi, Issey Miyake, Kenzo, Christian Dior, Nicole Miller, Ralph Lauren, Giorgio Armani, Vivienne Westwood, Oscar de la Renta, among others. She appeared in over 50 international magazine covers such as Cosmopolitan, Elle, GQ, Harper's Bazaar, Marie Claire, Ocean Drive, Vogue and the only model to appear on the cover of Glamour in the United States in 2006.

In 2004, Ambrosio launched her line of swimwear called Alessandra Ambrosio by Sais, a division of Rosa Chá. It sold 10,000 units in only its first month on the market.

Her best knowns collaboration is with American lingerie brand Victoria's Secret. She appeared in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show for the first time in 2000, and continues to be a participant in the subsequent shows. Her most notable walk down the runway was in 2005 wearing lingerie made entirely out of candy. In 2004, she was selected as the first spokesmodel for Victoria's Secret PINK line. She is currently a contract 'Angel' and spokesmodel for Victoria's Secret.Her 'Angel' status has brought her to the public's attention being cited by the popular media as one of the world's sexiest women. She was chosen as one of People magazine's annual 100 Most Beautiful People in the World, in May 2007 along with fellow 'Angels' Ambrosio is among the world's top-earning models.

Ambrosio was the face for the UK company Next and starred in their first television campaign in 12 years.She is also signed to Storm Model Management in London.

Only three months after giving birth to her first child, Ambrosio appeared in the Victoria's Secret fashion show 2008.

Ambrosio has made several television appearances, notably a cameo as herself on HBO's Entourage along with Izabel Goulart; The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn; Late Night with Conan O’Brien; as guest judge on Project Runway season 2: Team Lingerie and The Tyra Banks Show where she was a guest twice. She appeared alongside TV personality, Regis Philbin in a worldwide commercial for Hummer H2. In 2006, she had a cameo on the box-office hit movie, Casino Royale appearing briefly as Tennis Girl #1.

Ambrosio guest-starred on How I Met Your Mother (episode: "The Yips") on November 26, 2007 with her fellow Victoria's Secret Angels Adriana Lima, Selita Ebanks, Marisa Miller, Miranda Kerr, and Heidi Klum.

What does it take to become a supermodel? It helps to have a statuesque figure, fabulously long legs, sultry bedroom eyes, and impeccable genes. In short, it helps to look exactly like Alessandra Ambrosio. This long-legged goddess has received plenty of attention over the past two years after being ranked No. 36 and then No. 6 on AskMen.com's list of the Top 99 Most Desirable Women.

We love that Alessandra Ambrosia isn't just rail thin; she actually works for her body. “I work out with my Brazilian trainer, Leandro,” she explains. “He invented the Brazilian Butt Lift which is a mix of samba, capoeira and aerobics.” Here's to hoping the Brazilian Butt Lift makes its way to gyms across America very soon.

Ambrósio is currently one of Victoria's Secret Angels and the former face for the UK company Next.

Ambrosio loves surfing, seeing bands, drinking caipirinha and eating chocolates, which she admits to indulging in every day.[citation needed] She is very conscious of her figure and works out with her Brazilian trainer doing the Brazilian Butt Lift, which is a mix of samba, capoeira and aerobics.[citation needed]
When Ambrosio first came to New York, Gisele Bündchen lent her apartment for two weeks and Adriana Lima helped her translate English.

Britain's Next Top Model

In the summer of 2006 the second cycle of Living TV's Britain's Next Top Model hit UK screens and Clancy featured as one of the thirteen finalists in the competition, competing over 10 weeks for a desired modelling contract. Clancy was determined to go far in the competition, however was criticized for being more glamour than high fashion. Clancy made it to the final runway show with fellow contestant Lianna Fowler, at the final judging Clancy lost out to Fowler, who won the judge's hearts by her dedication to the industry. It was during the show, which coincided with the 2006 FIFA World Cup, that her relationship with football star Peter Crouch was revealed. This together with BNTM caused her to make headlines and start a successful media career.

On losing ‘Britain’s Next Top Model’:

Since appearing on the show Abigail has modelled for Maxim magazine (December 2006), Nuts magazine (November 2006), OK! magazine, GQ magazine (August 2006), The Sun newspaper, the Daily Star newspaper, Sugar magazine, Stars on Sunday magazine and numerous other publications. In 2006, Clancy was the face and body of Pussy Glamore’s winter Lingerie collection alongside Elizabeth Jagger in photos shot by Bryan Adams. She has graced the front cover of FHM magazine three times (December 2006, November 2007 & October 2008) and even been featured in FHM Australia.

In May 2007, Clancy appeared on the front cover of Arena magazine, modelled the Triumph Bonneville Motorbike in the Daily Mail newspaper and was ranked 37th in FHM magazine's Annual 100 sexiest women in the world poll of 2007.

Clancy has appeared as a talking head in the documentaries Slave To Fashion and The Ultimate Bikini Guide for Channel 4, as a guest on programmes such as Richard and Judy, The Chris Moyles Show, Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, GMTV and in her own Reality TV series Abbey and Janice: Beauty and the Best which followed her attempts to break the Los Angeles modelling scene guided by Janice Dickinson who acted as her mentor. In 2008 the series aired on the US network Oxygen.

Clancy featured in the third series of the UK edition of Hell's Kitchen. She was the third contestant to be voted off the show by the public, and the 5th to leave overall.

In 2007 and 2008, Clancy has endorsed Euromillons, been seen as the face (and body) of Ultimo Lingerie alongside Sarah Harding and Gemma Atkinson, Matalan Lingerie and Lynx in a major print & Television Advertising campaign and released her first official Calendar for 2008.

I’ve got younger brothers and sisters and it’s not nice.”

Abbey has one burning ambition before wrinkles take hold.
She reveals: “My main goal is to be a Victoria’s Secret lingerie model. Seriously, once I’ve done that I can happily die. But for now I also want to enjoy sitting in my garden and playing with my kittens. So maybe that goal is for next year.”

Where’s your favourite shopping destination?
I just came back from South Africa and there was an amazing boutique in Cape Town, called Carnival. They had stuff like matt metallic bikinis. But I
also love shopping in Paris, London and Liverpool.

I have cellulite on my bum.
I do have days when parts of me wobble, but I’m pretty happy with my body. I don’t have to diet or exercise too much.

My downfall is bread.
I could eat a whole loaf. I have a balanced diet otherwise, so if I start to see a double chin appearing, it’s time to cut back on the burgers.

I’m confident, but also very self-critical.
I’m really bad when I’m on a shoot as I notice every flaw.

The three words I use to describe myself are fun, happy and easy-going.
People can say what they want about me, but if they start attacking my friends or family, I’ll definitely have to say something.

Jessica Michibata

Jessica Michibata (道端ジェシカ ,Michibata Jieshika?), born Jessica Celeste Michibata (道端・ジェシカ・セレステMichibata Jieshika Seresute on October 21, 1984 in Fukui Prefecture, Japan) is a Japanese fashion model.

Modeling can be a very glamorous life but it is also hard work. Long days rehearsing, endless costume changes, battling against calories and constant attention to skin care are all part of the game that top model Jessica Michibata knows so well. “I’ve been pretty lucky. I don’t seem to put on weight. Maybe I have good genes,” she says, chatting in English, something she rarely gets to

do these days.

Born in Fukui to a Japanese mother and Argentinean father who is half-Spanish, half-Italian, Michibata has lived all her life in Japan, the last 10 years in Tokyo. She has two sisters who also do modeling. “I used to visit my older sister at her modeling agency in Tokyo, and when I was 12 or 13, they asked me if I’d like to try it,” says Michibata, 24.

As a child, she recalls dreaming of a very different career path. “When I was in high school, I wanted to be a coroner. That was my biggest dream. Everyone thinks I’m kidding when I say that. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to go to university because I was already working.”

For the past few years, Michibata has kept up a hectic pace of modeling and other projects. She had a segment on the TBS variety program “Cinema Style,” introducing the movie of the week and she was a movie critic for Soup magazine for four years.

She was recently the main model for Peach John lingerie and currently has contracts with Lux, Samantha Thavasa, Evian and Seiko, as well as appearing in fashion magazines such as Glamorous, Classy, Sweet and VoCE. Most recently, she took part in the very popular Tokyo Girls Collection before 22,000 screaming teenagers. “That was fun but tiring,” she says. “You have to be there at 6:30 a.m. and rehearse for four hours. There is no time to rest. The show went for six hours.”

Standing 173 cm tall, Michibata says a typical day can sometimes start at 6:30 a.m. and she won’t get home until midnight. “I know a lot of girls who worry about their weight, skin and hair. Some of them fast or just eat snacks. In this profession, you have to be healthy and happy inside, otherwise it shows through.”

Michibata certainly seems happy inside. “I’m good at finding a balance in my life. I love chocolates and ice cream, for example,” she says. “I go to the gym whenever I get time, and I jog. The problem with Tokyo is that whatever sport you want to do costs a lot. When I was growing up in Fukui, you could pretty much do anything.”

Michibata attracts a lot of fan mail through her blog and MySpace. “Young women want to know how they can become models. They want to know my story. Guys send fan mail too.” And what is her type of guy? “I like older men, smart guys, guys who work really hard like me. My type is the actor Benecio del Toro. He is the best of the best,” she answers.

Having traveled abroad often for work, Michibata says she has become interested in a world completely different from the glamour of her profession—United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) activities. “I’d like to visit a refugee camp and meet children there,” she says.

While models used to have a short “shelf” life, Michibata says there are more opportunities for older women now. “There are so many magazines targeting all ages,” she says. “I’m not sure what I’ll do after modeling. I’d like to try something I haven’t done, maybe acting, or do fashion designing.” Her own style tends to be more casual. “My job is to wear other people’s fancy clothes, so I tend to keep it simple at home. The funny thing is so many people think we get to keep all the clothes we model. I‘d have to build another house just to store them all,” she laughs.
